Delrin / POM (Acetal)
Dimensional stability and clean machinability for precision components.
Engineering plastics
High mechanical strength and wear resistance — the default choice for gears, bushes and wear parts.
Nylon combines toughness, fatigue resistance and good machinability, which makes it the standard substitute for metal in gears, bushes, rollers and guide components. Cast grades give better dimensional stability in larger sections; extruded grades suit smaller stock sizes.
Oil-filled grades carry internal lubrication for running surfaces that cannot be greased in service. Nylon does absorb moisture, so dimensional allowance matters on close-tolerance parts — worth discussing before you finalise the drawing.
